Your data.
Your call.
afterstride. is built by Joshua Weaver. This policy explains the data used by the app and this website during the private beta.
Last updated September 29, 2026.
What the app uses
- Your account. Clerk manages sign-in and the account details you provide there, such as an email address. afterstride. uses an account identifier to keep your saved work separate.
- Your training. Goals, availability, preferences, check-ins, plans, coaching conversations, and records from sources you connect. Workout records can include sport, time, duration, distance, pace, heart rate, exercises and related metrics. Route data may be present when your connected source supplies it. It is not included in Studio artwork unless you choose a route-based design.
- Your chosen photos. Photos you select for Studio, reference images for your looks, creative instructions, generated images and captions. The app does not upload your entire photo library. Uploaded images are normalized without their original camera metadata.
- Optional Apple Health data. With your permission, sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, and workout summaries, including their source and measurement method. You separately choose whether to upload this data and whether it may be included in coaching requests.
- Connections and service records. Connection credentials, sync state, request status, and limited operational information needed to authenticate requests, run jobs, diagnose failures, and protect the service.
Connections available to you are shown in the app. Personal Garmin connections are not yet available to invited beta accounts. Hevy currently requires Hevy Pro.
Why it is used
Your information is used to sync and display training, build and adjust plans, provide coaching, create the images you request, save your work, and support your account. afterstride. does not sell personal data or use Health data for advertising. There are no advertising trackers in the app or on this website.
Your library is private to your account. Nothing is posted to a social account automatically. When you save to Photos or share using another app, that destination’s own privacy rules apply.
Where processing happens
Clerk provides authentication. Railway hosts the private application service and its backups. Cloudflare serves this website and provides network services. These providers receive the information needed to operate those services, including relevant request and network information.
OpenAI processes coaching requests when you enable that feature, using relevant training context, your questions, and coaching preferences. Health observations are included only with the separate Health coaching permission. Studio sends your selected photo, reference and creative direction to OpenAI when you request a styled image. Private Health observations stay out of Studio artwork and captions.
The existing motion workflow can also send a selected photo and shareable workout information to Anthropic for creative direction. Choosing a new image in the still-image Studio does not require that motion workflow.
Source providers such as Hevy or Garmin handle their own original records. Connecting a source permits afterstride. to read the supported records for your account; it does not transfer control of your provider account.
These services may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. Their service terms and data-handling policies also apply. afterstride. cannot erase a photo you have already shared to another service.
The choices you have
Profile contains your coaching preferences, connections, and saved-data controls. You can decline optional Health access, stop Health uploads, separately disable Health context in coaching, disconnect Hevy, and stop using optional image processing. You can also change Health permissions in the iPhone’s Health app.
Turning off a connection stops future imports. It does not remove records already saved. The Health screen has a separate option to delete imported observations and saved coaching responses that may contain derived Health information. Your original Health records are unchanged.
Contact Joshua through Support to request access to or correction of saved data, or to ask for help with a privacy choice. Account ownership will be verified before any private data is disclosed or changed.
Keeping and deleting data
Saved training, conversations, photos and generated work remain available while your account is active, unless removed through an available in-app control or an account request. The app keeps an account-specific plan cache on your iPhone for offline use. Signing out removes sign-in credentials and hides the account’s work, but retains that local plan for the next sign-in. The plan cache is excluded from iCloud device backup.
Invited beta accounts can request deletion in Profile → Delete account. The service first closes account access, then drains active work, removes the sign-in identity, and deletes the account’s workspace, including source credentials, photos, generated work and coaching records. If a provider is unavailable, deletion remains queued and retries. The app confirms that a request was accepted, not that every deletion step has already finished.
Service backups may temporarily retain deleted records after removal from active storage, until those backups expire under the hosting retention schedule. A restricted record of deleted account identifiers is retained so deletion requests can be reapplied during recovery. Originals in Garmin, Hevy, Apple Health, Photos or apps you shared to remain under your control there.
If you cannot sign in or the deletion control is unavailable, use Support to request help. Deleting the app from your iPhone does not delete the server account.
Protecting your work
Account access requires authenticated requests. Connections are stored encrypted on the server, and sign-in tokens use the iPhone Keychain. Operational access is limited to running and supporting the service. No system can guarantee absolute security; please report a suspected problem through Support without sending credentials or sensitive records in a public message.
The website has no sign-up form or advertising cookies. Hosting providers can process IP addresses, browser information and request logs to deliver and protect it. Following an Instagram link opens a separate service with its own policy.
